News - S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

Here comes a good news for all the fans of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat multiplayer gaming: we are happy to offer the players an absolutely new game map made available for download today.

The map, named 'close combat' is a compact game location featuring a warehouse of containers in the Jupiter factory locale. The map is designed for dynamic play with use of close- and medium-range weapons. An interesting touch about the map is availability of one store per two teams for selling picked-up items in TDM (team deathmatch) mode.

The map is available for free download here. To install the map, run the downloaded .exe file, then follow the automatic instructions of the installation program.

Good news for those who consider room space more valuable then disc space, now that S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat is available on Steam! English, Russian, French, Italian and Spanish language versions could be found there.

We would like to mention that there is also a Loyality Promo available, which grants a special discount for those who already own the Steam Version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl or S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.

We are glad to present you a special version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat Having your PC tested with benchmark you will be able to get detailed information about its performance on various graphical modes and find out how well your system is balanced for gaming and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat in particular.

This benchmark is based on one of the ingame locations – Pripyat . The testing process includes four stages, those utilizing various weather and time of the day settings (day, night, rain, bright sun). In order to test your system thoroughly the benchmark is provided with a number of presets and options including different versions of DirectX (9.0, 10.0, 11), screen resolutions, antialiasing etc, all at your disposal.

Today, November 5, 2009 S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat is released in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on Windows PC.

The publisher bitComposer Games announced that S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat is available in two versions: a standard version and a limited special edition. The special edition game comes in a cool metal box with lots of extra goodies for fans. Besides a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. lighter, there's an A3 map of the area, two embroidered badges and a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. bandana.

In United States, United Kingdom and the rest of Europe the game is slanted for release in Q1 2010.
